"The Historic Clay
District is very grateful to the members of the
AlbertaSpirit Medicine Hat Centennial Planning
Committee - and all those who worked with them - for
the incredible effort in pulling together such an
extraordinary event.The official count at 8:30 pm
was some 2800 people at the Medalta Site, peaking at
about 3000 in attendance throughout the
evening. According to observers on the hillsides,
there were probably another 1000 or so around the
city watching the fireworks.
We are very grateful Aquila Productions, on behalf
of the Province of Alberta, chose the Medalta Site
to host the event. The hard work by those involved
both locally and abroad in organizing and carrying
out the event proved the "Medicine Hat" decision was
justified.
Once again, we were pleased to
demonstrate the significance and potential of the
Historic Clay District within our community. It was
a pleasure working with such a wonderful group on
this event."
