In 1937 Ed was a young ceramic engineer
fresh out of school. He took over as superintendent of Medalta in 1937 on the promise that
$250,000 would be spent to upgrade the Medalta plant. Ed oversaw in the introduction of
Medalta's hotel china product line using semi-porcelain white clay from Saskatchewan.
